Mass Cytometry (CyTOF)

Mass cytometry, or cytometry by time-of-flight (CyTOF), is a recently established technique that analyzes each single cell multiparametrically through multiple metal-tagged cellular markers with minimal overlap of signals, which overcomes the dimensional limitation of flow cytometry-based research about phenotyping and immune profiling of human immune systems.

Single cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq)

Assessing immune cell type heterogeneity and transcriptomic profiling of expressed genes from significant lymphocytes at a single level provides a more in-depth understanding of the complexity characteristic of immune cell types. Furthermore, these analytical approaches provide immune cell subsets and differently expressed genes (DEGs) information responsible for pathogenic inflammatory cytokines via the relevant molecular pathways. Traditional RNAseq analysis has limitations in revealing the complexity of target immune cell subsets and their transcriptomic changes. To overcome these limitations, single cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq) analysis has proven to be a critical technological approach for visualizing in-depth rare immune subsets with unprecedented detail, allowing basic scientific facts to be discovered
